An emergency men’s homeless shelter in Owensboro whose current capacity is 60 men. Settle provides volunteers for the shelter every Wednesday night. This includes working check-in, providing a meal, and serving the meal. Settle members also help St. Benedict’s with smaller projects throughout the year, including Christmas gifts for the men.
Daviess County Good News Jail and Prison Ministry
The purpose is to meet the spiritual needs of inmates and staff at the local detention center.
Provides food, shelter, clothing and other necessities for the homeless. They also offer case management, recovery, and financial classes to residents.
A local men’s probation program for drug and alcohol addicts. They house 30 men as well as offer participation in a twelve step recovery program and a life skills curriculum.
Moms on a Mission
A group comprised of mostly empty nesters, these moms take on meeting needs as they arise. Currently, they are providing 65 “Buddy Bags” a month for children in crises. The bags are distributed to homeless shelters, the Help Office, the jail, and other recovery organizations.
