The Help Office of Owensboro, Inc
This non-denominational agency’s mission is to provide emergency assistance to those in need. The Help Office serves as a clearing house for many area churches who are serving the poor. Settle supports The Help Office with donations of time, food, clothing, and hygiene items.
Settle works closely with Audubon’s principal, guidance counselor, and family resource coordinator to assist and encourage students. Settle provides tutors and packs a weekend’s worth of food in backpacks for low-income children at Audubon Elementary. You can volunteer to pack food, drop off food, or pick up backpacks throughout the school year.

The Toolbox Ministry is made up of a team of Settle’s handymen who provide home repairs, build ramps, and other projects for those in need. They also help with projects around the church. The team has a list of ongoing projects. Contact David Wells at (270) 683-2717 or Damon Smith at (270) 926-2457 about volunteer opportunities. You can help fund projects by indicating “toolbox ministry” on a check to Settle UMC. If you would like to recommend a project, there is a waiting list, but we enjoy helping. Feel free to call us, and we will come see what is needed. We’ll let you know what the estimated cost is (if any) and whether it is a job we can do.
Part of the Kentucky United Methodist Homes for Children and Youth, they serve youth with histories of abuse, neglect, abandonment, or family trauma. Members of Settle put on the annual “Mary Kendall FUNd Ride,” a biking adventure from which all of the proceeds go to benefit the Mary Kendall Home.
They believe in the power of presence, building relationships with students in Apollo and Daviess County high schools while sharing God’s love.
